Museum Docent Volunteers

Docents undergo training in the Mission and Purpose of the Museum, the specific exhibit to which they will be assigned, what skills their exhibit teaches children who interact with its components, how to read a story effectively to children and how to answer questions effectively. Not all exhibits lend themselves to story reading, but some do. Reading is a way to calm children down, thus helping maintain a more pleasant atmosphere in the Museum. Docents are needed on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday holidays during the year and every day during July and August. Docent can work as little as once a month.
